Now is the time to save a pet — and it’s free, say LifeLine Animal Project officials. The nonprofit group operates the animal shelters in Fulton and DeKalb counties. Through Sept. 10, pet adoptions there and at LifeLine’s own shelter will be free. Normally, the adoption fee for dogs is $85, and $65 for cats, which includes a complete medical exam, vaccinations and microchipping. Dogs and cats are also spayed or neutered before adoption.
