A local investor acquired a medical office in Hampstead for $2.54 million earlier this month. DaVita Dialysis, a national kidney care provider, has occupied the just over 7,900-square-foot medical building at 22804 U.S. 17 since 2015, according to a news release announcing the sale. KY Young Investment Partners LLC, an out-of-state, family-owned investment group, sold the property and the surrounding 2.89 acres in a transaction that closed on May 8.

Nest Realty has found a new nest in Carolina Beach. The residential real estate firm leased space in the commercial portion of new mixed-use complex Proximity at Carolina Beach at 904 N. Lake Park Blvd. Not that the company doesn’t like its current building at 112 Cape Fear Blvd. in the New Hanover County beach town. Nest occupies the first floor of the building the firm bought in 2019 for just under $1 million, said Ryan Crecelius, principal broker of Nest Realty Wilmington.

Wilmington officials have chosen the next city manager, who will replace current city manager Tony Caudle when he retires at the end of this month. The Wilmington City Council unanimously voted Tuesday night to appoint Becky Hawke as the next city manager. Hawke’s appointment concludes a national search for the city’s next top administrator, which began last fall after Caudle announced his plans to retire.
