This week Ward 6 Councillor Paul Argenzio introduced the winners of the George V. Colella Academic Achievement Awards for Revere’s top performing fifth and eighth graders and their teachers and principals. The top performing eighth graders were David Marco Spiriti, Narolyn Baez Rodriguez and Tyler Pham.

The Sachems dropped a 1-0 heartbreaker to Gloucester in a classic pitchers’ duel. Junior Brayden Crawford went toe-to-toe with Gloucester’s Giacomo Martell, with both hurlers tossing shutout ball into the seventh inning. Crawford struck out six and allowed no earned runs. However, Gloucester broke the deadlock in the bottom of the seventh with a walk-off double.

    Revere volleyball starts strong at 5-2By Dom NicastroThe RHS Patriots boys volleyball team fell at home to O’Bryant, 3-1. But the team is still in pretty good position as it soon completes the first half of the season. The Patriots are 5-2. Against O’Bryant, Juan Perez had 20 kills. Kawan Dias had 10 kills. Larry Claudio had 18 assists, and Christopher Choc Chavez tossed in 17 helpers. Revere topped Chelsea, 3-1. Perez had 15 kills. Dias added 10 kills, and Claudio chipped in with 12 assists.
