Bridget Higdon has been promoted to Publisher for O'Rourke Media Group's business in Vermont, which includes the Essex Reporter, Saint Albans Messenger, Colchester Sun and Milton Independent. As Publisher, Higdon will still manage the newsroom and serve as editor while taking on new responsibilities. She first joined the papers as a reporter in June 2020 in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. After steadily assuming added responsibilities, she was named Managing Editor for the group in August 2021.

I’m excited to communicate that Bridget Higdon has been promoted to Publisher for our business in Vermont, where we publish the Saint Albans Messenger-Tuesday and Friday, Essex Reporter-monthly print, Colchester Sun and Milton Independent (both online only for now). I hired Bridget as a Staff Writer for Chittenden County in June 2020 in the midst of the pandemic.
