In a city starved for sports controversy after the Celtics’ playoff exit, Boston media found their next target: Red Sox manager Alex Cora’s absence from a single game to attend his daughter’s college graduation. This manufactured outrage — dubbed “Graduation Gate” by the Fenway Rundown podcast — reveals far more about media desperation for content than any actual crisis within the Red Sox organization.

The Cardinals, like the Patriots, are also coming off their bye and have lost their last three games.

RT @ChrisCotillo: A no-doubter for Marcelo Mayer's first Fenway homer ever. He beats Campbell and Anthony to that feat.

Like I said yesterday, I especially hate this mentality for Anthony’s usage

Cora has not ruled out starting either of them this weekend, of course. But: If they had alternate options with like a .680 OPS against lefties, they would probably not play them. Romy and Refsnyder are actually elite in that role
