AbstractCentral dopamine (DA) innervation of the olfactory tubercle (OT) from the ventral tegmental area (VTA) plays a critical role in encoding multisensory information and generating behavioral outputs necessary for survival. However, due to anatomical restrictions and the neurochemical heterogeneity of the VTA and OT, very little is known about the functional link between mesolimbic VTA-DA transmission in the OT and its role in mediating reward and drug seeking.

게이머에서 프로레이서로. 영화 “그란 투리스모(Gran Turismo)”가 한국에서 9월 20일 개봉한다. 전설적인 레이싱 게임 ‘그란 투리스모’는 1997년 처음 선보인 후 2022년까지 시리즈가 계속되었고, 9천만 장 이상 팔린 명실공히 역대 최고의 레이싱 게임 중 하나로 자리잡았다. 게임 ‘그란 투리스모’가 기존 게임과 다른 점은 최대한 현실과 유사한 시뮬레이션성을 지향했다는 점이다. 카트라이더와 그란 투리스모는 둘 다 자동차 레이싱 게임이지만, 뭐가 다른지는 굳이 설명하지 않아도 알 수 있을 것이다. 이렇게 ‘실제적’으로 완성함으로써 발생한 흥미로운 이야기를 다룬 것이 오늘 개봉한 영화 “그란 투리스모”. 심지어 가슴을 울리게 하는 ‘Based on a true story’다. 대략적인 내용은 그란 투리스모 게임 대회에서 우승한 소년이 실제 프로 카레이서가 되는 역경의 과정을 담은 이야기다.
