During the event veterans in attendance were provided breakfast, lunch, and information on programs available to them. “This event allowed us to offer immediate intervention support to at-risk and under-served veterans,” said CEO Michael L. LAURINBURG — The Scotland County Sheriff’s Office closed down Main Street on Saturday to help raise money to help local children. “Our event was an incredible success, it helped not only raise close to $12,000 total for the Children’s Advocacy Center, but because of this event the Department of Social Services received applications to become foster parents,” said Lieutenant Detective A. James Daigle. “That in itself is worth its weight in gold.

Set at the St. Andrews University campus, the Run with the Knights 24-Hour Ultra begins at 8 a.m. March 23 and ends at 8 a.m. on March 24. All parking for the Run with the Knights 24-Hour Ultra will be on the Scotia Village side of the St. Andrews University. Dogwood Mile will be closed off to traffic as well as fishing beginning March 22 and will open back up by noon on March 24. ❮❯LAURINBURG — How many laps can one complete in 24 hours for a good cause?
