Palo Alto, Calif. — Homeowners invested less in remodeling projects in 2024, according to the latest U.S. Houzz & Home Study, while home décor spending remained steady. Among the 22,000 respondents, median spending on renovations fell to $20,000 among the 54% who took on a remodeling project in 2024. This was down about 17% from 2023’s $24,000 median amount.

Furniture buyers are open to using AI-powered tools to enhance their shopping experience, according to a consumer survey from Provoke Insights. The Provoke Summer 2025 survey, conducted in conjunction with Furniture Today, found 65% of recent furniture purchasers were interested in deploying AI during their buying experience vs. 21% who weren’t. Interest was keenest among urban consumers (76%), Millennials (75%) and parents (71%).
