A new salon and spa opened in January in the Beverly area at 3910 118 Avenue, but the name behind it might be familiar to some people in the McCauley and Boyle Street neighbourhoods. Timothie Hill opened his first location in 1994 at 9347 118 Avenue, which he ran for two years before moving to 115 Avenue and 87 Street two years later. He remained in that location for 11 years, with a brief interlude on Jasper Avenue and 117 Street.

Some of you may have noticed activity in Giovanni Caboto Park and at the McCauley Rink during the summer. This year, the McCauley Community League organized a Family-Friendly Sports program for July and August. On Mondays, it was basketball at the Rink and Wednesdays were for soccer in the park. These are examples of things I have made for family that don’t cost much: wreaths made from materials in their own yards. These two wreaths I made formy sister Kathy in 2011, from plants she had in her yard, while visiting her house in Virginia at Christmas. The other photo is of my cousins and their children in aprons I made each of them, last Christmas. Share on Bluesky Share on X Send Us A Letter

A new trend is emerging that brings the power of multimedia to the lives of everyone who wants to share and preserve a part of themselves. Two McCauley women are starting up a local movement right here in McCauley with a business called Weasel Tale. I attended the launch of this new business on March 20 and was very moved at some of the examples of digital storytelling shown to the crowd of over 100 people.
