Todd Janes works at Latitude 53 which is Alberta’s oldest and largest artist-run centre. He is Chair of the McCauley Revitalization committee and supports many organizations throughout our neighbourhood. He can be found at most special events and has a very positive attitude about our city, our community, and his role. Todd moved to McCauley in 2008 from Oliver, buying a home on Church Street.

These are examples of things I have made for family that don’t cost much: wreaths made from materials in their own yards. These two wreaths I made formy sister Kathy in 2011, from plants she had in her yard, while visiting her house in Virginia at Christmas. The other photo is of my cousins and their children in aprons I made each of them, last Christmas. Share on Bluesky Share on X Send Us A Letter

Sometimes I limit my scope to just 97 Street, but there is certainly more off that main street. I wandered over to 100 Street around lunchtime and the Spring Cafe caught my eye.

Uyen Uong Noodle Housevietnamese10626 97 Street(780) 497-8280I’m glad I wore a yellow shirt when I went to lunch. At Uyen Uong, the entire decor is yellow and I actually blended right in! It was bright, sunny, and clean. My dining companion and I had our choice of seats and were presented with menus. About 80 dishes were printed therein, plus about ten more specials handwritten on the last page.

Very interesting. Suggests that Prevost and Bergoglio did not get on at first, but that Bergoglio as Francis came to value him.
