    A daughter is marking the seven-year anniversary of the death of her mother, Detective Miosotis Familia, who was killed in the line of duty. “My mom was my person and when she died, when she was killed and taken from us - a part of me died, too," said Genesis Villella, Familia's daughter. Villella says the Fourth of July will never be the same for their family. “The last day I ever saw my mom was the Fourth of July, which is one of her favorite holidays to celebrate,” said Villella.

    Some Bronx residents say they are getting fake texts from City Pay, telling them they could face additional charges for unpaid tickets. The mayor's office says it is a part of a scam, and that New Yorkers should look for certain signs. “If this link, first of all, it has a .com - city agencies don't use .com. Again, like the mayor said, we will never ask you via text message to pay a bill. This is going all over.” said Deputy Mayor Fabien Levy.

    The city’s 2025 budget will cut $3 million from a nonprofit victim service agency called Safe Horizon. The agency offers 24/7 support to victims of abuse and domestic violence. The cut in funding means the program will not be able to reach people who have suffered a traumatic experience. “The number of people reaching out to us for support has continued to rise, and…11,000 crime victims that we would have been able to reach out to that we no longer can in the coming year.” said CEO Liz Roberts.

    Sunday's intense storms caused a tree to take down a portion of scaffolding in Wakefield. The massive tree that blocked East 228th and Bronx Boulevard was just some of the damages from the storm. It was not immediately clear as of Sunday night if any cars or people were in the path of the fallen tree. Streets surrounding the area were blocked off and cars were being redirected to areas not effected by the storm as of Sunday night. Residents said the devastation will impact the daily routine.
