The Euro note is set to go through a full redesign, with the new-look notes coming next year. The European Central Bank (ECB) has announced that a redesign of the notes is coming and will feature European cultural icons as well as images reflecting nature and architecture. Another reason for the change-up is for security reasons, too, making them harder to fake and more durable.

Irish tourists jetting off to Spain for a holiday this summer are being warned that bars and restaurants in the country are charging tourists €40 when booking a meal or drinks. The fee is due to tourists themselves keeping their spending to a minimum when out dining, along with increasing numbers of no-shows for bookings and the hospitality industry's staff shortage.

Gardaí have begun an investigation after a woman was assaulted in Salthill on May 3. The incident occurred at 9:20 pm while the woman was walking through Salthill village. A young man - who was with a group of other men - spat in her face and ran off. Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has any information is asked to contact Salthill Garda Station on 091-514720.
