Alexander Isak has picked up yet another award. The United striker winning the ‘Most Powerful Goal’ award. This was the Alexander Isak strike that opened the scoring in the Newcastle 3 Liverpool 3 match in December. That rocket shot measured at 108.94km/h. The only question I have, is how did the Sandro Tonali and Jacob Murphy goals, against Brentford and Palace respectively, not make this top ten???

This season has seen Newcastle United finish in fifth place for a fourth time in the top flight, in the last half century. United finished fifth in the old First Division in 1977, then also achieved a fifth spot in the EPL in 2012 under Alan Pardew of all people. Since the formation of the Premier League before the 1992/93 season, Newcastle have finished in quite a few lofty and impressive positions in the division.

The 2025/26 Newcastle United home kit has now gone on sale. Last week we reported (see below) that next season’s home kit would go on sale this Thursday (29 May) morning. The team having then worn the 2025/26 Newcastle United home kit on Sunday. Not the best of debuts for this kit, as United lost 1-0 to Everton. In happier news though, events elsewhere led to a fifth place finish and guaranteed Champions League football.

A media exclusive has now reported that Newcastle United are set to make imminent bids for both Bryan Mbeumo and Marc Guehi. The Telegraph state that their information is that the intention is to try and make early first team signings as United prepare to face a 2025/26 on four fronts. Newcastle United having at least eight Champions League matches as well as the three domestic competitions.
