The Elkhart track and field team had 17 athletes advance to the regional meet Friday, April 18 and Saturday, April 19 at Huntsville ISD. The Lady Elks had eight athletes advance after the area round at Fairfield High School as Bailey Jones won the area title in the pole vault with a height of nine feet. The Palestine Wildcats have needed a walk-off hit in the past two games to stay in the chase for a playoff spot. After a walk-off victory Friday against the Rusk Eagles off the bat of Rohyn Price, Tuesday's 3-2 victory over the Rusk Eagles came courtesy of senior Tag Dillard. Dillard roped a double to left field driving in Zaylon Warren, who doubled in the previous at-bat for the winning run.

The Palestine Wildcats finished in third place in the District 17-4A Track and Field meet Wednesday at Wildcat Stadium. Palestine had 10 individuals and two relay teams qualify for the area track and field meet as the top four finishers in their events. AdvertisementS’Vioarean Martin and Isaiah Hill qualified as district champions in the 100-meter dash and pole vault respectively, while Dreylon Spurlock and Baylynn Williams finished second in their events.
