Last Friday morning, I had one job. Give out the Chamber's phone number while live on the radio and Facebook. Easy, right? You'd think. But somewhere between my brain and my mouth, the current 903 area code got tangled up with my old one, 972. Out came a Frankenstein phone number that led to... absolutely no one. Twice. Oops. A day on the lake might seem ordinary to some, but for kids with special needs, it can be nothing short of transformational. That’s the heart behind “Skiin’ with the Galilean,” a free summer day camp returning to Lake Athens June 17–19, and organizers are calling on the community to help make it happen. The camp, which began in Marble Falls in 1999 and expanded to Athens in 2012, offers a day of tubing, boat rides, great food, and a Biblical message of love, all in a safe, inclusive environment.
