Light & Wonder has snared a 20% equity stake in London-headquartered slots studio Bang Bang Games for an undisclosed fee. Under the remit of the deal, Bang Bang Games will gain access to the Light & Wonder Spark programme, which provides smaller studios with the support and market access required for growth. Prior to taking a minority ownership in the business, Light & Wonder added Bang Bang Games’ content to its aggregation platform, OpenGaming, in October 2023.

The Swedish Administrative Court of Linköping has ruled Hacksaw Gaming’s SEK2.6m (£200,000) fine over its games appearing on black market sites be reduced to just SEK20,000 (£1,535). The supplier was originally fined in May 2024 after its content was found on two unlicensed sites, which the Swedish Gambling Authority (SGA) said constituted a breach of licence requirements. Since July 2023, suppliers in Sweden have had to hold a B2B licence to offer services in the market.

The Gambling Commission has charged 15 people, including several Conservative politicians, following its investigation into alleged cheating around bets placed on the timing of last year’s general election. The investigation, which started in June 2024, focused on individuals who were privy to confidential information to “gain an unfair advantage in betting markets”, as per the regulator.

Midnite has raised $10m (£7.6m) in a Series B funding round as the UK challenger brand said it is aiming to become a tier-one operator in the market. The latest capital raise was led by Discerning Capital, the Raine Group and Play Ventures, while Venrex and Big Bets also took part. The $10m injection means the operator, which started life as an esports betting-focused brand, has raised more than $35m.
