The Buckeye Police Department arrested an alleged sexual predator near Canyon View High School. Michael Armijo, 26, is in custody on charges of attempting to lure a minor, child sex trafficking and sexual conduct with a 15-year-old girl. On May 16, two female students contacted a Canyon View school resource officer and said they saw an unknown man performing a sex act in the car parked next to them. Police said after the report was made, the officer worked with the BPD’s Special Victims Unit.

Buc-ee’s officially broke ground on its new Goodyear location, marking the company’s first Arizona location. The gas station and convenience store chain is known for its wide variety of options, food and clean restrooms. The 74,000-square-foot Goodyear facility is set to be a hotspot come summer 2026. “We’ve got an excellent employer coming to the city,” Mayor Joe Pizzillo said.
