A Florida police officer was injured when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver while investigating a previous crash last week. West Palm Beach police were at the scene of a traffic incident at about 8:30 p.m. Friday, WPTV-TV reports. When an officer was getting into his cruiser, his vehicle was struck by an SUV. The officer was knocked to the ground, and the SUV sped off. The officer was taken to the hospital, where he was treated and release. Police are searching for the driver of the SUV.

An Arkansas State Police trooper underwent surgery after he was seriously injured in a severe weather-related crash Sunday. The incident happened shortly before 5:30 p.m. while Trooper Christian Ramirez was responding to a three-vehicle crash during a heavy rainstorm near Hot Spring Village in Garland County, KATV-TV reports. No details were released concerning how the crash involving Ramirez happened, but the severe weather conditions were cited as a factor.

A Florida police officer was shot and wounded during an Easter celebration Sunday, and three people were taken into custody stemming from the incident. The shooting happened shortly after 8 p.m. as Lake City police and other law enforcement agencies were helping with a crowd during an Easter event at Annie Mattox Recreation Center, WTLV-TV reports. That's when a fight broke out between several attendees.

Oklahoma police and other first responders deployed a drone late last month to help save a man who had been struck by a train. The rescue happened March 26 when a train conductor in Oklahoma City called 9-1-1 thought he had hit something but couldn't see anything from his vantage point, KFOR-TV reports. Following the call, a drone was sent to scout the area of the suspected crash as part of the Drone as First Responder (DFR) program with the Oklahoma City police and fire departments.
