Rutherford County Schools Director Dr. James Sullivan told the Rutherford County Budget and Investment Committee in a meeting on May 29 that 95 percent of the bus drivers had  agreed to four-year contract.

JOEL COUNCEGreen Hill exploded for a five-run seventh inning to take a wild 15-12 victory over Stewarts Creek in the first game of the Class 4A state softball tournament. Stewarts Creek then beat Farragut 15-5 in an elimination game and beat Dickson County 8-4 in an elimination game before losing to Green Hill 14-2 to end its season.

Siegel (32-15) won its first game of the Class 4A tournament by a 6-0 score over Rossview. A 1-0 loss to Farragut sent the Stars to the elimination bracket. Independence jumped to a 5-0 lead in the first two innings.
