Parents should be able to delay their children's first entry into school by a year if they feel their child is not sufficiently mature, says a study by the non-partisan think tank Montreal Economic Institute. Quebec law says that children who become six years old  before Oct. 1. must start school that year. Those born after Sept. 30 must wait another year. This has resulted in some children being considerably younger, or considerably older, than their fellow students in the same grade.

St. Laurent MNA Marwah Rizqy and Jacques Cartier MNA Gregory Kelley have declared their support for Pablo Rodriguez as leader of the Quebec Liberal Party. Rodriguez, who has appeared at several local events lately, was former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's Quebec lieutenant. He made the latest endorsement announcement accompanied by Michelle Setlakwe, campaign co-chair and MNA for Mont-Royal–Outremont. Kelley and Rizqy are also a married couple.

The city has initiated a major rehabilitation project this year that will result in the repair and upgrading of 3,000 square metres of sidewalks on several streets as part of its 2025 infrastructure investments. The first phase began April 25 and “includes 1,000 square metres of sidewalk rehabilitation work at 45 different locations.
