Lions roar to Cadette Division III titleThe LCC Lions had too potent an attack against the St. Thomas Knights in the Girls’ GMAA Cadette Division III flag football final at Pointe Claire’s Terra Cotta Park. LCC claimed the championship medals and banner with a 27-7 decision over the Knights. The Lions pulled away in the second half to break-open a close game with the score 13-7 after the Knights got on the board with a third quarter score.

Quebec Liberal leadership candidate Pablo Rodriguez spoke to The Suburban's editor-in-chief Beryl Wajsman last week on a wide variety of subjects leading up to the leadership vote and the 2026 provincial election. BW: A Léger poll showed that with Pablo Rodriguez at the head of the QLP, the Liberals are at 31, 32 percent, the PQ falls to 21 percent and the CAQ is at 16 percent. Any other candidate, the numbers basically stay the same with the PQ in front.

West Islander Jim Hindley is well known for the outstanding work he has done over the years for the Cedars Cancer Foundation, for which he served as president and established their long-running golf tournament. Jim and I were in touch last week. He wanted to share the story of his granddaughter Shawnea Roberts, who was born with extreme allergies to diapers, creams, baby formulas, all types of metal and antibiotics.
