PETERSBURG, Va. (WWBT) - Petersburg is no stranger to flooding. It’s an issue the city is working to address through the Greening Petersburg Program. “When you come in with concrete, permanent, physical infrastructure, that’s a significant cost,” said Naomi Siodmok, the director of Planning and Community Development. That cost has been pooling water in neighborhoods and on busy roads. Siodmok said these newly planted trees could help mitigate that excess water.

At this age, they’re starting to figure out who they are.
