The family of John Clarke, 79, has confirmed that the former Augusta Commissioner passed away peacefully on Jan. 29 surrounded by loved ones. Clarke suffered a cardiac event on Jan. 27 and remained in hospitalized throughout the week. He ended up passing away from report failure caused by the initial event. A retired cross country semi-truck operator, Clarke retired and served as an Augusta commissioner from 2018 to 2022.
