The Saskatchewan Rush are one win away from a trip to the NLL Championship final. After a dominant performance last weekend in game one of the NLL semi-final playoff round against the Halifax Thunderbirds, the Saskatchewan Rush are back in Saskatoon, preparing for the weekend. Led by six goals from Austin Shanks and a nine-point effort from Zach Manns, the Rush took game one by a 16-7 score. “Really, it was probably our complete 60-minute effort to date,” said Frank Scigliano, goaltender.

People came together in Saskatoon to break the silence and honour missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and two spirit peoples on Monday. The City of Saskatoon held events to raise awareness about Red Dress Day. But dealing with the pain of a missing loved one is an everyday ordeal for some. “It is for advocates like myself and our women’s group,” said Darlene Okemaysim-Sicotte, co-chair of Iskwewuk E-wichiwitochik (Women Walking Together).

After being hit by a car while on vacation in Las Vegas, paramedics Katrine Sinclair and Charlie Lastowsky are back in Saskatchewan recovering from their injuries. “We took the air ambulance and we landed at the airport in Saskatoon,” said Roberta Sinclair, Katrine’s mother. “And then we went from an ambulance in Saskatoon to the RUH here in Saskatoon. And we’re still here.”Sinclair says the local police investigation ruled it as an accident.

The 23rd annual Dogs’ Breakfast supporting Huskies football brought out some of the big names in the sport. One of the largest football fundraising events in Canada brought around 1,400 University of Saskatchewan Huskie football supporters together in the early hours of Thursday morning. While head coach Scott Flory says the event, hosted by the Huskie Football Foundation, is known by many as the unofficial start of football season.
