While there’s plenty of blame to go round for the ceasefire’s collapse, it’s undoubtedly the civilians of Gaza who are paying the highest price for the breakdown in negotiations. On Tuesday morning, the IDF issued a warning to Gazans living close to the edge of the Strip to move away for their own safety. This suggests an extensive ground operation is in the offing. However there was no warning ahead of the overnight Israeli air strikes - and it seems the civilian death toll is horrendous.
