Keep an umbrella handy if you have any outside Easter celebrations later today with rounds of rain on the way. Another cool and mostly cloudy day is in store with temperatures holding steady in the low 50s and upper 40s during the day. Rain showers rolling in this afternoon will also dampen any Easter plans for later in the day. This morning's services and festivities stay dry, but a wave of rain rolls in from south to north late morning and early afternoon.

Friday's cold front has brought a 15-20° drop into holiday weekend. Mostly cloudy skies remain in place throughout the weekend with a gentle northerly wind keeping cooler temperatures in place. Highs will struggle to reach 60° Saturday, then stay solidly in the 50s Sunday. Any rain does stay away Saturday, lending to fair weather conditions for Saturday egg hunts and other festivities. Sunday, however, gets a little tricky with renewed rain chances.

The week is ending on a warm, humid, and rainy note with a passing cold front kicking up some potentially strong to severe storms. Areas south of a line from Polo to Woodstock are in a level 2/5 risk for severe weather this evening with the rest of the area at a lower risk thanks to stable air from this morning's storms across southern Wisconsin. A cold front will be passing through the area through 10 p.m., likely kick up at least some scattered showers.

ROCKFORD (WREX) — The May 7 enforcement deadline for REAL IDs is fast approaching and experts want you to stay informed as scammers try to take advantage of last minute scrambling. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) says they are expecting to see a rush of scammers trying to steal identity and other confidential information in order to help people get a REAL ID.

DeKALB, Ill. (WREX) — A busy road in DeKalb is set to shut down for a few weeks as work to improve safety around a new elementary school gets underway. Normal Rd. will be shut down beginning on Monday, April 21, between Edgebrook Dr. and Ridge Dr. as the finishing touches go into the new Mitchell Elementary School. The stretch of road between W. Hillcrest Dr. and Ridge Dr. will be open to local traffic only in order to reduce traffic in the work zone while allowing access to those that live there.
