(Author's note: 'Rock The Boat' is the iconic 1974 hit song by The Hues Corporation. You will recognize it immediately. It inspired this article because the song tells of a fragile love affair that is in jeopardy of collapsing when someone "got the notion" and decided to upset the fine balance and "to rock the boat". Seems like what's happening in America today regarding this love/hate affair with Trump, or Trumpmania, or whatever you want to call it.

Stress relief. If you are suffering acute anxiety over what is happening to America, and trying to determine what's going on and how this all happened, your apprehensions are well-founded. If you are frightened by what you are seeing and hearing coming out of the White House and wary of its insane resident, don't worry, you are not alone. You're on track. Hey! Father of our Country,You sour, awful, stupid, man. What the hell is wrong with you? Where did you ever get the idea that you could actually be a President of the United States of America? As a benevolent father figure for a country, a president should have a calming effect on the people. He should project a sense of well-being, that everything is okay and under control. That it will be okay. And then see to it that everything is okay. That's a true leader.

Why Trump will never be a great president ... Because he really doesn't care about you. He's only in it for himself. And that's the bottom-line truth. It's just not in him. Trump could care less about America, about you, your life, your family and concerns ... your well-being. He says he does. He's even convinced himself that he does. But don't you get it? Isn't it painfully obvious by now? That you, and America, are just his vehicle to fame and fortune. That's his end game.

21-year-old activist Bernie Sanders resisting arrest at a 1963 Chicago rally And he's still at it today ... Senator Bernie Sanders today ... still givin' 'em hell! Like many of us Brooklynites (Bernie, Ben & Jerry, me ...) who gravitated to Vermont as young men with a dream (btw, I did some marketing work for Ben & Jerry in the early days ... long story) you just can't keep us down.
