Employers and companies struggling these days to find eager, qualified workers may be overlooking a strong, if hidden, talent pool — neurodivergent candidates, including those with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, Asperger’s syndrome and similar conditions. “It’s one of Alabama’s best-kept secrets,” said Nick Votava, a Homewood-based vocational supervisor for the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services.
