The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal holds the title of the biggest daily newspaper in northeast Mississippi. It began its journey in 1872 and is located in Tupelo, Mississippi. The newspaper is owned by Journal, Inc. (previously called Journal Publishing Company, Inc.), which also publishes eight weekly community papers, including The Itawamba County Times, the Pontotoc Progress, the Southern Sentinel, the Chickasaw Journal, and the New Albany News-Exchange.

    OXFORD – A Mexican man charged with statutory rape in Oxford admitted in federal court Thursday that he re-entered the country illegally. Antonio Quintana Rodriguez, 30, of Jefferson Davis Drive Extended, Oxford, was arrested April 8 by the Oxford Police Department and charged with two counts of statutory rape and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
