Following a pub conversation about last season’s Premier League clubs, I had to go and check this out. We had been debating (arguing!) how many times the respective PL teams had been selected for live TV by Sky Sports, Amazon Prime and TNT Sports. Sometimes your memory deceives you, but for example, it felt to me like considering how rubbish they were and such low quality football, Manchester United seemed to have been on a ridiculous number of times during the 2024/25 season.

Wednesday’s announcement of the¬†Newcastle United 2025/26 Premier League fixtures (see below) has of course got everybody looking ahead across the next year, where our football lives will take us. You have to play all teams home and away but it is a big positive if you can get your season off to the best of starts. Newcastle United getting Aston Villa away and then Liverpool home, you have to say, the opening two weekends could have been a ‘little’ kinder.

The 2025/26 Newcastle United home shirt went on sale on Thursday 29 May. Next season’s shirt had actually been worn by the players in the final game of the 2024/25 season. The new Newcastle United home shirt then going on sale to the fans four days later. That was when it was also revealed what the prices were.

The words of Eddie Howe have been endlessly repeated. The Newcastle United Head Coach speaking after the final match of the season, when United had lost to Everton but had confirmation of qualification for the Champions League. Eddie Howe met the Newcastle United owners after that match on the final day. Ahead of that meeting with his bosses, Eddie Howe said quite a bit about the upcoming summer trading.
