Contrary to believe that his late sister, Atsi Kefas, was killed by bandits, Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas has revealed that a police escort attached to his mother shot and killed the deceased while traveling from Jalingo to Abuja, along the Wukari-Chonku Road. Governor Kefas who stated this while interacting with journalists in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, said investigation revealed that the culprit police escort shot Atsi at close range.

Final year students of Government Secondary School, Namnai in Gasol local government area of Taraba State, on Wednesday escaped death when a classroom building where they were writing WAEC examination collapsed following a heavy downpour. The students and teachers, including supervisors and corps members serving in the school were trapped in the collapsed classrooms and it took hours of efforts by residents of the community to rescue them.

Troops of the Nigerian Army have killed 21 bandits during a clearance operation in Shawu Forest, Ruwan Godiya Ward of Faskari local government area of Katsina State. The offensive, which was part of the ongoing “Operation Forest Sanity III” (OPFS III), was executed by troops of the 17 Brigade Strike Group. Elsewhere in Taraba State, gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have killed over 30 people in Munga Lalau, Munga Doso villages of Karim-Lamido local government area.
