    The Cork Business Association (CBA) has announced a second cleaning and greening event, this time on Oliver Plunkett St, next Tuesday, June 24. The event is part of a broader CBA campaign to improve the streets in Cork city, with the first event held recently on North Main St. Equipped with gloves, brushes, litter pickers, and paint supplied by the CBA, volunteers will also be joined by McKechnie Cleaning Services, who will provide power washers, window washers, and industrial sweepers.

    A senior member of An Garda Síochána has said it is intended the sod will be turned on the long-awaited Garda station in Macroom in the coming months. Speaking at the reopening of the newly refurbished Coachford Garda station, assistant commissioner Eileen Foster said work on the Macroom station, which will also serve as the new Garda divisional headquarters for Cork county, will commence in the third quarter of this year.

The hotel will join the Choice Hotel Group’s expanding portfolio in Ireland, which also includes hotels in Galway, Dublin, Clare. Established in 1902, the Walter Raleigh hotel is located on the sea front promenade in the town of Youghal.

    Bishop of Cork and Ross Fintan Gavin has said that the Eucharistic Procession is an opportunity to gather and celebrate in a very respectful way. The 2025 Cork Corpus Christi Eucharistic Procession will take place this Sunday, June 22. This year marks the 99th anniversary of the inaugural procession. The procession will commence at 3pm from the Cathedral of Saint Mary and Saint Anne, concluding at a specially constructed stage and altar on the Grand Parade.
