Speaker Mike Johnson met Tuesday at the White House with President Donald Trump and House Republicans holding out against voting for the Senate-approved budget bill to fund Trump's agenda. GOP leaders are again relying on Trump to help get the bill across the finish line this week before the House takes a two-week recess. After meeting for over an hour with about 20 hardliners, @SpeakerJohnson tells reporters he has scraped plans to vote on the budget resolution after a “subset” of Republicans could not get to yes.

And now @RepJeffries is challenging @SpeakerJohnson to debate the budget "one-on-one" on the floor -- and borrowing a line from @RepGregSteube. "I promise not to rebuke you in the name of Jesus," Jeffries quipped.
