Tracking warm air and storm chances ahead of a mild and dry weekend TODAY: Thursday is another warm and bright day to start. We are monitoring a band of showers near Kansas City that should not build into mid-Missouri, but it may impact the region with a few clouds northwest of Columbia. Clouds will build through midday, leading to a thunderstorm chance by the early afternoon. No severe weather is expected, but lighting will be possible with every cell that develops.

Tracking warm air and dry time with storm chances through end of week TODAY: Wednesday brings a better chance for rain, but we'll still have dry time. Some thunderstorms near Kansas City this morning will drift east towards us, bringing mostly a shower, but also a weak thunderstorm chance through the morning. This will primarily impact those west of Columbia and Jefferson City. Those in the east will stay dry.

Winds will be from the south southwest around 10-15 mph, with minimal gusts above 15 mph. High temperatures will approach 80 in the afternoon, likely falling just short in the upper 70s for many. TONIGHT: Showers will approach from dying storms overnight.

TONIGHT: Skies remain mostly clear tonight, but high clouds work into the region by sunrise. Temperatures fall into the low 50s to upper 40s.
