Howell County man charged with the murder of his father to appear in court in 2024

UPDATE 11/19/2024 — A Howell County man accused of murdering his father is getting new trial dates in 2025. According to online court records, Christopher Thomas Greenough is scheduled for a three-day jury trial starting July 15, 2025. UPDATE 8/31/23 — Greenough’s pre-trial conference is scheduled for July 16, 2024. The jury trial has been set for Aug. 26-28, 2024. UPDATE 4/11/23 — Greenough pleaded not guilty to his charges on Feb. 17. He is scheduled to have a criminal setting at 9 a.m. on May 16.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A man was arrested in central Springfield after being accused of littering and attacking people with various hand tools, including a handaxe and pitchfork. Michael Eugene Campbell, 47, of Springfield, is charged with:Three felony counts of unlawful use of a weapon. One felony count of armed criminal action. One misdemeanor count of fourth-degree assault. One misdemeanor count of littering.

HICKORY COUNTY, Mo. — A woman was killed after a vehicle she was trying to enter rolled over her. Patsy A. Strode, 78, of Raymore, was pronounced dead at the scene at on July 31. A Missouri State Highway Patrol crash reports states that troopers initiated an investigation into the incident at 3:10 p.m. on County Road 182 about three miles east of Hermitage.

The wrestlers are coming to the Sister Cities Japanese Fall Festival, a celebration of Springfield’s 37-year-old sisterhood with Isesaki, Japan. Those wanting to watch the sumo wrestlers should attend the 27th Japanese Fall Festival, which lasts from Friday to Sunday, Sept. 8-10, at the Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden in the Springfield Botanical Gardens at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park.
Osage Beach firefighters use personal watercraft to jump onto out-of-control boat

OSAGE BEACH, Mo. — Two Osage Beach Fire Protection District firefighters are being commended for their action movie-style boat rescue. According to an OBFPD release, around 11:43 a.m. on July 25, firefighters were dispatched to a boat in distress. It was found the boat was circling out of control and its passengers were hanging from the side. A firefighting engine operated by Chris Holden and Judd Douglas showed up at the Lake of the Ozarks, where they discovered the call was valid.
