I am on my third book recounting the POTUS election cycle. One thing is very clear. The Biden White House, and the Biden/Harris campaign, lived deep inside a bubble, almost completely out-of-touch with reality. They missed clue after clue after clue about what was happening amongst voters. It is still going on as so much of media continues with the “Can you believe Trump…?” stories while America is enjoying what is happening. Yesterday was a very long day for your intrepid commentator.

Reports are that “Biden, Inc.” is out of cash flow – that the reason we are seeing a broken-down, incoherent Joe out in public is because it is the only way the Biden family group knows to generate the income they need to afford their extravagant lifestyle. Harry Truman left the White House quite literally broke and so Congress created a presidential pension – a quite generous one at that.

This is fascinating. It is an article retelling an interview with then relevant band R.E.M. in which band member are quite discontent with the state of America and particularly its politics. One of them calls for the assassination of George H.W. Bush. What were their reasons? Said Peter Buck of the group:“I hate this country, I really hate America,” he continued. “We’ve turned into such selfish bastards. He is ranting about the Reagan tax cuts and Bush’s no new taxes pledge.

D.E.I. has gotten way, way out of hand and it is good to see the Trump administration’s efforts to rein it in. It is often about race, but almost equally often that has imposed on it an economic differentiation element to the point that one must ask whether its really about racial equality or economic equality (socialism.)  In the story just linked they talk a lot about black and white, but it concerns Skokie.

I am astonished daily as, despite the last election, media and liberals and Democrats have slipped into the same patterns as Trump 1.0.  The formula that seemed to bring them victory in 2020, was clearly signaled as a loser in 2024, but here they are trying to run the same playbook again. They seem incapable of learning. But then California….
