Media is covering the “feud” between Trump and Musk like The Beatles were breaking up again. (For the younger reader, Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings.) Which is why I have not read a single one of the now uncountable number of stories written about the “end of the ‘bromance.'” Political feuds, and that is all this is, are as common as toast for breakfast. The reasons for them are endless, and quite often petty – the egos in politics are immense. This one is easy to understand.

Most of us think of “dystopia” as a future occurrence, happening when cars fly and holograms fill every available bit of air space with advertising. We think of movies like “The Fifth Element” or “Blade Runner.” But there are other dystopic movies that are not so pretty – “Soylent Green” comes to mind where the everyday working world has more than a passing resemblance to current Los Angeles.

The trainwreck that is California may be forced to come to terms with its profligate ways. Little stories here and there are starting to emerge. Let’s start small:In 2021, California became the first state in the nation to mandate high school students take a one semester ethnic studies class to graduate. The class was set to begin this fall, i.e. the 2025-2026 academic school year.

Page 4:The original sin of Election 2024 was Biden’s decision to run for reelection – followed by aggressive efforts to hide his cognitive decline. That sentence contains two deep moral flaws. The first is journalistic.
