Two months ago, Southwest Airlines made a major announcement: they’re ending their iconic “two bags fly free” policy and introducing a new Basic Economy fare. Starting May 28, flight changes will no longer be allowed, and flight credits will have an expiration date. You can find all the key details here. Many travel experts, myself included, were concerned that these changes (and others), might impact employee morale, especially among Southwest’s famously friendly and fun flight attendants.

United Airlines just announced they’re going to upgrade their Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. Dubbed the United Elevated interior, this fresh look and feel comes with a long list of luxury updates designed to enhance comfort, connectivity and premium service across every cabin. My mother-in-law is in town from Toronto for Grandparents Day at our kids’ school and for our son’s First Holy Communion. Since she’s a big fan of the hit game show Jeopardy! I decided to look into tickets for a taping and was pleasantly surprised to learn that they were not only available, but they are free. Tapings take place at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City and I booked each one of us a ticket for Monday, May 6th.
