BLOOMINGTON (25News Now) - District 87 is bringing its summer food service program, providing free meals to anyone 18 years old and younger from June 9 to Aug. 8. The meals will be served at 11 locations, including Irving Elementary, Sheridan Elementary, Jane Stenson Elementary, Bloomington High School, the Boys and Girls Club, Bloomington Public Library, Friendship Park, City of Refuge Ministries, Holton Homes, Miller Park, and Wood Hill Family. Breakfast includes a grain, fruit, and milk.

Fitz came to us through the species survival plan through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums,” said Zoo Director Max Lakes.

WASHINGTON (25News Now) - A Washington event that gave children with disabilities a day of fun and inclusion won’t be happening this year, and community members said this leaves a gap in this year’s Good Neighbor Days. Special Kids Day, offered annually, provides a private and inclusive environment for individuals with disabilities to enjoy rides and festivities at the Good Neighbor Days carnival.

PEORIA (25News Now) - The Peoria Fire Department is supporting local students one school supply at a time. The 4th annual Fill the Firetruck campaign kicks off Wednesday in partnership with the Peoria Afro Firefighters Association, the Peoria Park District, and Peoria Firefighters Local 50. The drive will collect school supplies until July 22 for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. The supplies will go to local K-12 students across the Peoria area.
