Kids can play $5 golf rounds at Chambers Bay, other WA courses through this program

Looking for something affordable for your kids to do this summer? The Youth on Course golf program returns for another year, teeing up $5 rounds of golf for kids at courses in Washington and around the country. Bank of America is partnering with the organization, offering a free one-year membership for kids ages six to 18. In the South Sound, Chambers Bay, The Home Course (DuPont), Highlands, Meadow Park and Allenmore are a few of the participating courses.

There were upwards of 60 Major League Baseball scouts in attendance when Puyallup High School played Mount Vernon in the season-opening game in early March at Everett’s Funko Field. National scouts flew in from all over the country and joined local scouts from most, if not all of MLB’s teams to watch and evaluate two players: Mount Vernon’s Xavier Neyens, the No. 1 rated prospect in the state and Puyallup’s Mason Pike, the No. 2 rated prospect in Washington.

Another day, another Puyallup High School baseball win. The Vikings moved to 14-0 on the season with an 8-4 win over Curtis on Tuesday afternoon in University Place. Puyallup starting pitcher Jett Reed was strong, tossing six innings, allowing four hits, two runs, walking three and striking out three. “I came in just looking fastball heavy, looking to throw strikes, get ahead in counts,” Reed said.
