Fifty years later, Spielberg’s shark thriller, Jaws, remains the most important film ever made by complete accident. And there’s a reason why no one will ever make another one exactly like it. Here’s the thing about Jaws that nobody wants to admit on its 50th anniversary: it’s probably Hollywood’s last great, beautiful accident.

A space-obsessed boy becomes Earth’s ambassador in Pixar’s Elio, a sincere return to form for the studio. Here’s the thing about Elio: it’s not trying to make you cry. Not really. Sure, there’s grief baked into the story of an eleven-year-old boy whose parents are gone, living with an aunt who loves him but doesn’t quite know how to show it. But this isn’t Pixar coming for your tear ducts with a laser sword.

Pet Sounds changed music forever. 59 years later, Brian Wilson’s death reminds us why that still matters. Brian Wilson might’ve been the first musical artist to treat a pop album like a soul transplant. And now, in the wake of his death at age 82, we’re left with the uncanny ache of having known someone through sound more intimately than we ever could in life. “Wouldn’t it be nice if we were older?” he once asked, not realizing he’d accidentally written the future’s saddest eulogy.

From Andor to Obi-Wan and Ahsoka to Acolyte, here’s our ranking of all the Star Wars live-action shows, starting with the darkest side. If you’re here, you’re either a Star Wars fan or someone who once dated one and is trying to understand what went wrong. Either way, welcome. The last five years have blessed us with more live-action Star Wars shows than we know what to do with, which is to say: too many.

my favorite thing about the new mission impossible is that the entire movie is all “we gotta avoid high tech gadgets! the villain is an AI, be careful!” and then in the third act Simon Pegg rides in a self driving product placement car and nothing bad happens

MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – DEAD RECKONING PART ONE is as exhausting as its title. Terribly weak villains, an incomplete plot, and the stunt set pieces are a step down from FALLOUT (the series at its best). It's still good though? My review @InBetweenDrafts https://t.co/ZBSt628MJv https://t.co/RHZrSp0I8b
