    Creighton women's basketball is on the board in the transfer portal. Northern Iowa transfer Grace Boffeli committed to CU on Wednesday, she announced via social media, making the Missouri Valley standout the Bluejays' first portal addition of the offseason. Boffeli — a 6-foot-1 forward — will play her sixth and final season in Omaha. She's a two-time first team All-MVC selection who has averaged 11 points and 7.9 rebounds in 115 games, including 88 starts, across five seasons at UNI.

    Nebraska closer Luke Broderick slammed the door shut on his hometown team. Broderick blanked Creighton in the ninth inning of the Huskers’ 6-3 win on Tuesday night at Charles Schwab Field. Then the Omaha native stepped off the mound and stomped out the Bluejays’ last chance. Timely hitting delivered the Huskers a win that has eluded them as of late. Tuesday was Nebraska’s first victory vs. Creighton since May 9, 2023 — a 7-4 win also at Schwab.

    It didn’t take long for Alan Huss to become a coaching commodity. Two successful seasons at High Point paved the way for Huss to return to Creighton as Greg McDermott’s associate head coach and coach-in-waiting for when McDermott eventually retires, the school announced Thursday afternoon. There’s no telling if Huss — one of the most sought-after coaches in this offseason’s cycle — would have been tabbed as McDermott’s successor if he hadn’t proved himself. But he did.
