Enchanted by the 1-54 Art Fair in Marrakech“THIS THING IS REALLY HERE TO STAY,” I heard a bejeweled collector proclaim on the steps of La Mamounia, the inimitably luxurious hotel located in the heart of Marrakech. And so began the fifth edition of the city’s 1-54 Art Fair. Other guests repeated the lady’s claim as the fair unfolded over the next four days. And they didn’t just say it: They gushed it, laughed it, and took my hand so that I would really believe it—and I did.
