LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — Concerns have been raised over who will patrol Lake Norman after Lincoln County Commissioners voted to dismantle the groups responsible for its safety. The group is expected to stop working at the end of June, days before July 4. Last year, Channel 9 investigated big problems on Lake Norman. Illegal charter and rental boats that either did not have the proper permitting or a hired captain. In one case, someone drowned.

CHARLOTTE — A family is still in shock after a Cadillac SUV crashed into their home in southwest Charlotte Tuesday night. It happened just after 6 p.m. on Cayman Way. Ameriah Meziere told Channel 9 that her family used a ladder to get what belongings they could from the home. “It was me, my brother, and my sister. We were sitting on the bed, and all of a sudden our TV fell, and we heard an explosion,” said Meziere.

Inside sources told Channel 9′s Jonathan Lowe that, despite concerned parents and citizens calling for the school district to continue looking into this incident, it is being viewed as a school fight where the students were disciplined. The district now just wants to move forward.
