Officials said the ferry was closed on May 4 after the ferry made contact with the boarding ramp while departing from Mayport Landing. JTA said they were able to complete most of the Coast Guard-required maintenance that was scheduled to happen next year.

    Published: June 11, 2025 at 12:27 PMJACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Department of Justice said a child sex offender was sentenced to 30 years in prison for attempted child enticement. Officials said Andrew Thomas Bull, 37, attempted to entice an 11-year-old child to engage in sexually explicit conduct to produce photos of her own sexual abuse. Bull was convicted of importation and possession of child porn in Connecticut in 2013 and was on probation when he was arrested on May 25, 2023.

June 9 marked 8 years since a 39-year-old woman was found dead in the parking lot of Master’s Touch Ministry on Soutel Drive in the Harborview area of Jacksonville. Percy Johnson, 65, is a registered sexual predator with cases in Jacksonville and St. Johns County, with one case dating back nearly 30 years.
