Kingstonian have appointed Craig Edwards as manger following the sacking of Tommy Williams. The former Billericay Town manager, who ended a 35-year dry spell for the club by winning the league in 2012, will take over with Ks having slipped into the relegation zone. Tommy Williams and his assistant Graham Harper were sacked on Sunday after a 2-1 away defeat to Burgess Hill Town – Ks eighth loss in ten games.

A huge swathe of peat bog in the far north of Scotland is a step closer to becoming a Unesco World Heritage Site after a team working for the UN completed a survey of the Flow Country. The bog, in Sutherland and Caithness, is the most extensive and intact blanket bog system in the world and stores more carbon than all the forests in Britain. It was first suggested that it should have world heritage status in 1988, but plans for a serious proposal were only drawn up in 2010.
