Argyle ISD is set to receive new computers and transportation software as officials look to refurbish aging technology. Trustees reviewed the purchase of new computers and transportation software and approved the purchase of Chromebooks for a total of $1.08 million. Chief Financial Officer Liz Stewart presented the items to the board at the April 22 meeting and the reviewed items will come back for board approval next month.

The Denton Area Teachers Credit Union is opening up a branch in Argyle, according to company staff. The company offers checking, savings, small business, health savings and retirement accounts as well as personal, student, vehicle and home loans. Patrons can also receive wealth management services. The new branch will also have a smart ATM for depositing checks and cash behind the building.

Residents in Flower Mound, Highland Village and Argyle can participate in early voting from April 22-29 for the May 3 election. On the ballotBallots will feature city races, including bond election races for both Argyle ISD and Flower Mound, mayoral and sales tax election races for Argyle, and a school board election for Lewisville ISD. The company operated out of Coppell for over 20 years and has moved to a temporary satellite office in Grapevine as the Flower Mound location is under construction, according to a company newsletter. Voters will consider a $423 million bond with two propositions at the May 3 election. The first proposition, totaling $393.7 million, would fund bus purchases, technology updates, the construction of a sixth elementary school and new middle school, and design for a third middle school, per district documents. The second proposition allocates $29.4 million for a baseball and softball complex at Argyle High School.
