The Gallup Pathways to Wealth survey was developed from three sample sources. The largest is the Gallup Panel. Gallup emailed adults who had previously been randomly selected to complete a Gallup survey and joined the Panel by offering Gallup their email address and contact permission. A secondary source (accounting for 367 completes) was obtained from the U.S. Small Business Administration, which published the addresses of all businesses that received “504” loans.

AbstractTheoretically and empirically, parenting is closely related to the psychological health of offspring, but long-term effects and possible international differences are not well established. In a pre-registered multilevel modeling analysis using data from the Global Flourishing Study, we tested whether retrospective parent-child relationship quality predicts adult well-being in a representative sample of 202,898 adults living in 21 countries and one territory.

Newham Cyclists, part of the London Cycling Campaign, is today calling for Thames Water to immediately re-open the Greenway at Manor Road bridge until a safe diversion can be put in place. As a volunteer group which exists to help more people access cycling, we are disappointed and angered by Thames Water’s and their contractors’ decision to close part of the Greenway, Newham’s only safe and inclusive north-south cycle route, while the diversion route is dangerously busy with car and van traffic.

Married Americans Thriving at Higher Rates Than Unmarried Adults

Gallup Wellbeing IndexData from 2020 to 2023 are based on responses (respectively) from 13,595 adults aged 25 to 50 per year who are married, have never married, are divorced, or are in a domestic partnership. Other marital situations (e.g., widowed or separated) were too infrequent to produce reliable estimates. For married adults, the margin of error on thriving ranges from ±0.7 to ±1.7 percentage points at the 95% confidence level, depending on the year.
