A fire has temporarily closed the Popeyes located in the Exchange’s food court. The incident took place at approximately 10:30 p.m. March 24, according to Sheila Enderle, general manager for the Redstone Arsenal and Columbus Exchange. There were no injuries. Enderle praised the efforts of Redstone’s Fire Department, which contained the fire quickly, saving the facility from any damage, and said it’s the first time a fire has taken place in the Exchange’s food court.

The leader of Army Futures Command opened with some advice about predicting the future before giving updates on the current role of Army Futures Command and saying at least one aspect of war is unchanging. “I always try to encourage people that if you’re trying to figure out the future, you know, nobody is going to get it right; it’s don’t be really wrong,” Gen. James Rainey, commander of Army Futures Command, said.

I don’t subscribe to diagnosing yourself based on videos that are force-fed to you by an algorithm but considering the current cost of health care, I get it. But I did watch one video the other day that really made me wonder – not if I have some undiagnosed disorder, I’m sure I have a few, but it made me wonder about what else I may have been doing wrong for my entire life. Apparently, there’s a “correct” way one can hold a pen or there is the way I hold a pen.

The Garrison’s Directorate of Public Works is studying the new traffic patterns on post, which has increased since federal employees were told to return to the office. This could lead to adjusting some of the timing on the Arsenal’s traffic signals. “As the volume of traffic continues to increase across the Arsenal, we in DPW fully realize that some of our traffic signals across post need to be adjusted,” Joey Skinner, the director of public works, said.

We’re at a crossroads in this country, and it was never clearer to me than last Friday. If we fail to rise and let our voices be heard, we may lose what we’ve fought so hard to have. That, of course, is the ability to watch March Madness four games at a time on the same screen. I have only watched a few games this year because the user experience has been horrible.
