Tricare Young Adult is a plan that qualified adult children can buy after their eligibility for regular Tricare coverage ends at age 21 or at age 23 if they’re enrolled in college, according to Mike Reid, chief of the managed care division at Fox Army Health Center.

He’s here three to four times a week, trying to get in 100 to 150 laps. “It’s the best pool in the county,” he said before starting his late-morning laps. “We’re very, very fortunate to have it.”The Aquatics Center, with its eight-lane, 25-yard pool, is located in building 3705 on Aerobee Road and open from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Big Kick Energy stayed unbeaten despite adversity. Colton Nall filled in for their usual starter and pitched the defending champions to a win in the kickball semifinal April 9. Big Kick Energy beat Kickelob Ultra 7-3 on NASA field 1. They advanced to the tournament final scheduled April 15. “Even without our starting pitcher (Emory Weaver), our team chemistry carried us through the game,” Big Kick Energy captain Sahana Parker said. She started the third-year team and recruited all their players.

The hours have changed for Redstone’s first Installation Safety Day, June 3, to maximize participation. The event starts at 9 a.m. and concludes at 2 p.m. instead of noon as originally planned. Food trucks have also been added, so lunchtime is envisioned as the peak time. Redstone Activity Field, 3732 Aerobee Road, is the location with additional booths indoors at the Community Activity Center, building 3711. June is National Safety Month.
