    Fiji Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro officially opened a new $FJ48,000 restroom facility at Suva Seventh-day Adventist Primary School in Suvavou on September 13. In his address at the opening ceremony, Minister Radrodro acknowledged the traditional landowners and the Adventist Church for their dedication to the education of Fiji’s children. This was the first visit to the school by a sitting Minister for Education.

    More than 50 people were baptised across Fiji and many more expressed interest in studying the Bible after a three-week evangelism series aired by Hope Channel Fiji. The series, led by Fiji Mission ministerial secretary Pastor Aisake Tiko Kabu and broadcast from the Newtown Seventh-day Adventist Church in Nasinu, reached homes and villages across the country through television, radio and social media.

    Fiji Mission (FM) senior minister and evangelist Pastor Pita Nakamica Tokalau, 56, was laid to rest on July 3. He passed away suddenly on the morning of June 25 at his Suva residence. His funeral took place at the FM burial grounds, based at the Mission headquarters compound. Trans Pacific Union Mission president Pastor Maveni Kaufononga, who shared a close bond with Pastor Tokalau, officiated at the funeral service, which was attended by hundreds from across Fiji.

    More than 1130 women gathered for the Fiji Mission (FM) Women’s Ministry annual congress from August 29 to September 3. The event was held on Koro Island, where the Dorcas Ministry introduced Adventism into Tavua Village many years ago. Themed “A Woman Inspired to Aspire”, the congress aimed to motivate, inspire and ignite change. The event featured a line-up of speakers and workshop facilitators.

    The Fiji Mission (FM) commemorated 132 years of Adventism in the nation on August 3 and acknowledged the sacrifice of the church’s pioneers and missionaries of the late 1800s. Held at the FM headquarters in Suvavou, the celebration was attended by retired mission workers, representatives from Suvavou village, church members, and FM and TPUM (Trans Pacific Union Mission) staff.
